3 days to the Stories of the Supernatural Halloween workshop! Aimed at Yr9, 10 and 11 students, this free English GCSE writing workshop on Friday at 10 am will prepare your child for the creative writing element in a fun and interactive way. I must say I am glad to say hello to half term! This term is always the most gruelling of the three and it is so important to take time to recharge. Even though it may feel like Christmas is around the corner, there are still a lot of school weeks to try through, as well as contending with mocks and coursework deadlines. So make sure you encourage your child to take time out this half term!

Loved a bit of baking with this little monkey yesterday! We made some special spooky treats 🎃 I will admit more flour ending up on the flour than in the biscuits bur we still had fun.

The Gothic genre is my favourite and it is also a great genre for practising creative writing. In my latest blog post, I share 5 reasons why all students should give this genre a go! I always like using art in my lessons but it is just as well I don't teach Art! It's a great way to get students engaged and help them to visualise the text more effectively.
