Jo (Founder and English Tutor)
I am a qualified secondary English teacher and tutor, with a passion for helping students find their spark and fulfil their potential. After the birth of my second child, I decided not to return to the classroom and instead to focus on my desire to work with students on a one to one and small group basis. I tutor children from KS2 to A Level in English, and I have worked with students of all ability levels. Furthermore, I am experienced in working with neuro-diverse students. Besides running Bright Sky Tutoring, I also work in schools providing specialist intervention for students who are underachieving. I offer one to one and small group sessions and I pride myself on my ability to adapt and tailor the lessons to the specific learning needs of the students.
Angela (English Tutor)
After pursuing a career in secretarial work and then journalism, I decided to become a teacher. My first role was in a middle school in Suffolk where I taught students English and Drama from years 5 – 9. Within 3 years I took on the role of Co-ordinator of English and Drama. I then moved to a middle school in Norfolk and became Maths Co-ordinator for one year and then Head of English and Assessment. When the middle schools were disbanded, I decided to move to high school and became Assistant Director of English at a challenging school in Norwich. After five years I became Head of English, Performance and Communication Faculty.
I have always loved reading, writing, and helping others develop these skills. I believe confidence and reading for pleasure is the key to developing good writing skills. My other love is travelling across Britain and the world and I particularly enjoy exploring historical sites.
